Course Description:
Not your average English class, this course offers dynamic, fun and interactive lessons on various scientific topics through the news. Together we will work on building confidence through group and individual speaking activities. You will grow your general English vocabulary on topics such as health and medicine, history of science, Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability etc. Over the 10 weeks, we will be working on all four skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening. We will also be reviewing grammar and pronunciation (if necessary) through various classroom games and fun activities.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Communicate effectively in a range of topics, expressing themselves clearly and coherently.
- Develop awareness on current affairs and understanding, gaining insight into scientific vocabulary.
- Write coherent and structured opinion essays, summaries and reports, with improved grammar and vocabulary.
- Successfully prepare for the Linguaskill test.
