The study flows and porous environment mechanics is particularly stimulous of the wide range of application available: water ressources, study of hydrogeological systems, oil exploration, hydrocarbon tank exploitation, carbon sequestration, pollutant dispersion, energy storage, geothermal energy, salinization of agricultural soils, induced seismic risk, ...
Porous environments present geometrical structures where fluids and solid matrix are linked and coupled. Its study field is transversal to solid and fluid mechanics.
A first part of the EA will be lectures and will introduce notions and concepts related to porous environments. The second part will be scientific projects (each projects can have one experimental element and one digital modeling element or both; projects will take place at TREX laboratory of the Mechanics Department).
