The course covers the dynamics of mechanical systems (solids), both from the point of view of modal analysis and the dynamics of structures (vibrations) as well as the mechanics of continuous media and the propagation of waves within them. The overall teaching objective is to give students a general overview of the very wide variety of dynamic phenomena in solids and structures.
The course is structured in three parts: (i) discrete systems, (ii) continuous media and (iii) advanced topics, spread over 9 lectures and 9 PCs.
