As Britain stepped back from the European stage, the Irish border complicated new trade negotiations and Scotland threatened to reconsider its position within the UK, the British public might be forgiven for starting to doubt the long-term strategic genius of recent Conservative governments.  Finally back in power, how has the new Labour government wielded its landslide majority?

As well as trying to understand contemporary issues we'll also take a look back at some key periods in British history, drawing on the perspectives of a variety of artists, writers and comedians.

Coursework includes short presentations, essay writing and plenty of group and pair-work
