The Painting course aims to make the students aware that there are other thought forms, more intuitive or sensitive, based on the introspection more than on reasoning, and yet essential to the full expression of the being. This raises the question that is essential to artistic production: what do I mean? How do you express what is intimate? What does a painter say when he says, when he shows? If technical mastery is powerless to provide an answer, it alone leaves the painter to its own questioning.
Canvas is not the and white surface facing the painter, but the mirror oferred to its desires, doubts, humanity. If this mirror is so often restive to the creativity of those who examine it, it has its own codes, requirements, solfège. Solfège in painting is the technique, the pictorial technique today, forgotten to say the least, so often despised. Painting is the sister of Alchemy, which oscillate between pigments, mediums, essences and feelings.
Mastering the technique means being free to create without obstacle, free to create color, glazing, sequencing of their work, syntax of their own creativity. becomes the natural extension of the hand to give free rein to intimate expression. The pictorial technique acquired gives place to esthetical emotion.
Sessions are based on personal support for students, respecting their individuality and sensitivity. Notions will be progressively covered like composition, which under the omnipresence of photographic image, has evolved towards the more contemporary notion of framing, as well as all the strictly technical aspects of the painter's profession. The technique used is oil paint on canvas.
All material is provided to students.
Evaluation modalities:
The realized works will be evaluated after each session, and at the end of the seminar.
The average score will be refined and will take into account the work done, involvement and attendance.
