The experimental work will start with a common study of the following aspects: effect of sampling, quantization noise, redundancy and the effect of disturbances, error-correcting code, oversampling, decimation and compression. A personal production work will be done. Either with a real-time approach using a microprocessor or microcontroller-based system, on topics such as compression methods (MPEG2 audio standard: "mp3") and phoneme synthesis using LPC filtering (GSM). Or a more algorithmic approach to problems such as speech recognition, denoising of old recordings, and so on.
