Experimental work of genetic engineering

This experimental program confronts the future engineer with some of the strategies of exploitation and reprogramming of living properties.
Through the experimental resolution of a biological problem, students discover and / or deepen the strategies and techniques of genetic engineering.

In addition, this teaching allows students to acquire new knowledge not only through the resolution of the problem, but also through exchanges with the teacher-researchers who supervise the experimental work.

The topics proposed include:

  • Strategies for gene clonings
  • Control of gene expression
  • The remodeling of genes by site-directed mutagenesis
  • The use of plasmid and phage vectors
  • The Enzymology

Clausus number: 24 (Priority for students enrolled in Biology)
Required level: At least one biology module in year 2.
