PHY558A - Nuclear Reactors
This course presents the main of nucelar reactors and the great principles of their through an introduction to the core physics.
The course is based on a gradual approach of basic physics (nuclear physics, raioactivity, interaction neutron-matter, neutron and criticality), with a more technological presentation of current and future reactor technologies. Therefore, no fundamental prerequisite but a good grasp of basic physics is required. The EA PHY587 "Technology of nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel cycles" and MEC566 "Application de la mécanique des fluides dans le domaine de l'énergie" are ideal for complementing this course.
