The goal of this course is to discuss analytical and numerical methods for the particle transport and diffusion models used in applications such as radiative transfer, neutron transport, population dynamics... The quantitative analysis of nuclear chain reactions, of the greenhouse effect in climatology, or of inertial confinement (thermonuclear) fusion, to quote only a few examples, involves this type of mathematical models.
