This MODAL will be conducted at LinX, Laboratoire interdiscipline de l'X : searches in humanities and social sciences. Founded in 2014, this laboratory analyzes the relations between sciences, technologies and societies by crossing expertise from different fields of the humanities and social sciences.
Interactions between contemporary science and society are more often a cross-disciplinary stake than the subject of a well-defined discipline. Today's heated debates on innovation, ethics, sustainable development and democracy witness the limits of the disciplinary model that structured the organization of knowledge in the 20th century.
In order to meet the challenge of designing new configurations of knowledge in proportion to what is at stake, LinX encourages the decentralization of questions from fields as diverse as science and technologies, contemporary democracy, the worlds of literary representation and art, international relations, law and so on.
