The objective of this course is to analyze the economics of digital markets.
We will examine how digitization affects the structure of existing markets and facilitates the creation of new markets.
We will analyze the strategies of firms and the behavior of consumers in digital markets. We will focus on the platform business model as the key business model in digital markets.
Finally, we will examine how policymakers should respond to these changes.
To analyze these changes, we will use tools from industrial organization to understand firms' strategies in digital markets and the role of public policy.
