Independent American Cinema
This class is an introduction to independent American cinema and its history. We will watch independent films from the US, discuss them, analyze them, learn what it means for a film to be considered “independent”, read about the history of independent cinema in the United States, and produce a short film in small groups at the end of the semester for a final project. Students will be expected to choose one film to present to the class for an oral presentation.
Your final grade will be determined as follows:
33.3% oral presentation
33.3% participation in class
33.3% final project short film
