In this course you will be introduced to one of the quintessential genres in British and American cinema.
Works to be possibly included are Dracula, Cat People, Psycho, The Exorcist, and others. In addition to studying the psychological, social, historical and aesthetic dimensions of horror and gothic cinema, students will be initiated into the interpretation of film, and introduced to an appropriate critical vocabulary.
Working in groups, students will make a short film in the genre.
