The objective of this module is to introduce students to physics and optics at very short wavelengths (spectral range from extreme ultraviolet to X-rays) and at very short durations (femtoseconds and attoseconds).
After a review on ultra-short pulses, we will focus on high order harmonic generation sources for attosecond pulses, free electron lasers and optical components used on these sources.
We will conclude by presenting some applications of XUV radiation in fundamental physics.
