Atelier d’écritures cinématographiques

Ce séminaire qui évoluera sur un terrain mixte (théorique et pratique) proposera auxétudiant.e.s de les accompagner dans la conception, en groupe ou seul.e, d’un dossier préparatoire au tournage d’un court-métrage. Il prendra donc la forme d’un atelier d’écriture doublé d’un cours d’introduction à la dramaturgie, les deux démarches s’appuyant l’une sur l’autre au fil de l’écriture du dossier dont la pièce maîtresse sera le scénario.
Contenu :
Dans sa partie théorique, le séminaire posera la question suivante : comment faire histoire ? Il développera pour y répondre des points de dramaturgie classique choisis selon leur utilité directe dans le cadre d’une démarche d’écriture (personnages, structure, point de vue…). Il s’agira de comprendre en quoi ils peuvent aider concrètement à l’élaboration d’un récit. Ces points seront donc discutés à partir de l’expérience de spectateur.rice ou d’auteur.ice de chacun.e et soutenus par l’exemple : chaque cours proposera l’analyse d’une séquence de long-métrage ou d’un court-métrage en rapport avec la question du jour. Le versant pratique du séminaire prendra la forme d’un atelier et devra accompagner les étudiant.e.s dans leur geste d’écriture depuis leur première impulsion jusqu’à la version dialoguée en passant par toutes les étapes intermédiaires de l’écriture d’un scénario (pitch, synopsis). Un discussion collective et bienveillante accompagnera chacune de ces étapes. Et au delà du scénario, il faudra réfléchir à la forme globale des projets de films en pensant, dès la première étape de l’écriture, à la mise en scène. Un moodboard et une note d’intention devront donc compléter le dossier pour témoigner de cette réflexion, les étudiant.e.s seront incités à faire du repérage et du casting pour l’élargir encore.
Évaluation :
L’évaluation reposera sur l’implication de chacun dans les deux parties du cours : réflexion collective pour la partie théorique, avancées dans la conception du dossier pour la partie pratique, en tenant compte de la « pente » de chacun.e (idée originale, développement, conception visuelle etc.). Il est aussi attendu que chaque étudiant.e participe à la réflexion autour des scénarios et dossiers des autres étudiant.e.s, la partie atelier du cours permettant des discussions régulières autour de l’élaboration de ces documents.

Film writing workshop

This seminar, evolving on a mixt field (), will offer students to support them in the design, in group or alone, of a preparatory dossier for the shooting of a short film. Thus, the course will thke the form of a writting workshop with an introductory course on dramaturgy, the two approaches building on each other as the script is written, the centrepiece of which will be the screenplay.
Content:
In its theorical part, the seminar will raise this question: how make history? To respond, it will develop points of classical dramaturgy chosen for their direct usefulness in the writing process (characters, structure, point of view, ...). The aim is to understand how they can provide practical help in developing a story. These points will be discussed from the experience of the spectator or author and supported by the example: each course will offer the analysis of a long or short film's sequence related to the question of the day. The practical side of the seminar will take the form of a workshop and will have to accompany students in their written process from their first impulsion to the dialogued version, through all the intermediate steps of screenwritting (pitch, synopsis). A collective and caring discussion will join each step. And beyond the screenplay, thought will have to be given to the overall shape of the film projects by thinking about staging from the very first stage of writing. A moodboard and a director's statement will therefore have to complete the dossier to demonstrate this reflection, students will be encouraged to do casting and location scouting to expand it further.
Evaluation modalities:
It will on the implication in both parts of the course: collective reflection for the theorical part, advances in the design of the dossier for the practical part, taking of everyone into account (). It is also expected that every student participate to the reflection on screenplays and dossiers of the other sudents, the part of the course allowing discussions around the development of these documents.
