The aim of the advanced quantum physics course (PHY430) is to continue the learning process of quantum mechanics started the year before (PHY361).
By relying on the fundamental principles already acquired we will be able to discover new methods exploiting at best the symmetries of the studied problem or implementing suitable approximations.
With the help of a new postulate allowing to treat the case of indistinguishable particles, it will then become possible to deal with more complex systems such as atoms, molecules and solids. Some quantum technologies will also be discussed, especially during the last session, which will be given by specialists of the second quantum revolution.
