Main outcomes and content :
The first sequence is dedicated to new energies and society. The lectures present the conditions for the deployment of green hydrogen in the context of the current energy transition and the agenda of the Paris Climate Agreement. The economic analysis focuses on the potential levers and obstacles of this deployment in the economy and by reference to the land transportation sector. It presents the main challenges of the transition from a carbon-based economy to a sustainable economy.
The second sequence describes a couple of different multifunctional materials and systems for sustainable energy conversion.
In the third sequence, the hydrogen production technologies including conventional processes and hydrogen production from water electrolysis and photo-electrolysis are described.
Sequence number four focuses on the hydrogen storage and energy applications highlighting the risks and safety aspects.
Finally, sequence number five presents the electrochemical energy conversion systems in particular the batteries of future and supercapacitors.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify the key technologies of the energy transition.
- Understand the societal challenges of the energy transition.
- Know the advances in Research for the production and storage of energy.
