Mathematical Methods for Physics II (PHY 105) builds upon the previous semester’s course PHY 102. The necessary mathematical techniques for PHY 104 will be introduced while developing students’ knowledge of vector analysis: gradient, divergence, curl, line, surface and volume integrals, culminating with Green's theorem in the plane. In the second part of the course, Fourier series will be introduced and applied to the resolution of partial differential equations such as the wave or heat equation.
