The course provides an overview of the field of the Digital humanities -its history, and development- looking at the digital mathods that have applied to humanities data from a variety of fields and perspectives, e.g, textual  scholarship, archaeology, and material culture, and music. Single lectures will focus on a particular topic, with general trends being highlighted and connected between topics and fields in order for students to develop an understanding of the researsh questions, methods and toolds common to DH studies.

Each class will be devoted to an introduction to the specific topic, preceded of followed by discussions with the students to connect to their technical knowledge and interests. Active participation by part of the students is therefore expected throughout the course.
